Finishing the Wipe in After Effects
An animated mask in After Effects will serve to create the true wipe for this graphic sweep. The 3D graphic doesn't have a wipe built into it per se, it only provides some cover for the transition that occurs between the outgoing and incoming clips.[an error occurred while processing this directive]The wipe is a simple animated mask that gets applied to the outgoing clip. Create a garbage mask that encompasses the outgoing clip, providing enough leeway for editorial of the mask later if needed (expand/feather).

Set keyframes for the mask shape, following the contour of the passing leaves. I've created a gentle blend for the areas where the leaves do not meet, but you can use the "ringer" leaf animation to close up the gaps.

I began creating a couple different wipe types, but realized it is too easy to spend hours just designing wipes. Rake your own!
