Weekly Download: Custom Shapes for Photoshop, Series 5
15 decorative mesh shapes
by David Nagel

This week we return to the process of overtaxing your processor with yet another series of custom shapes for Adobe Photoshop, this time with 15 new styles to add to your ever-increasing library. As with previous collections, this new library includes a variety of decorative mesh styles, from wavy grids to complex, spiraling lines. Also in this article, I've decided to provide links to all of our previous free Photoshop downloads, including shapes, brushes, patterns and actions, to save you the time of hunting through the ol' archives.

Normally the types of shapes I provide are best used subtly as decorative backgrounds for such applications as Web banners, advertising or corporate logos. Some of the past collections, though, have had lines that got to be a bit thick when scaled up, so I've tried to create shapes this time around that use more delicate lines. Below you'll see five examples of the shapes used in various composites to show some ways they can be used. Of course, they can also be applied as paths so that you can rotate, fill and stroke them independently. (Good luck with that though!)[an error occurred while processing this directive]
