The Orphanage has announced an update to Magic Bullet Suite, a set of plugins for Adobe After Effects. The new version is primarily geared toward processor optimizations on the Windows side, but both the Mac and Windows versions also gain support for floating point-based processing. The update is expected to ship in late August for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Magic Bullet Suite comprises five individual plugins for creating the appearance of film on video footage, including conversion of video source material to 24 FPS. For Windows, the new version gains dramatic speed improvements on dual Pentium 4 systems. For Mac and Windows, the new version now supports floating point processing on 8- and 16-bit source material for better preservation of dynamic range. Look Suite also gains floating point processing and an improved contrast system.
Magic Bullet Suite 1.5 will be available later this month for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows. The two full versions run $995 (standard-def) and $1,995 (high-def). A competitive upgrade is now available for DigiEffects Cinelook customers (with proof of ownership). For more information, visit http://www.redgiantsoftware.com.
