JULY 18, 2003 Weekly Download: Studio Artist Paint Patches, Series 6 Synthetik Studio Artist 2.0 has the capability to generate a wide range of paint effects with its built-in paint synthesizer, including brushes that not only apply paint and texture to the canvas, but that also flow like liquids, spreading out and blending and displacing the paint that's already on the canvas. This week we offer variations on this liquid brush feature in the form of 15 Paint Patch presets designed to smear, blend and and otherwise distort your image. Our collection this week includes 15 individual Paint Patches. These include a couple of simple splatter brushes (variations on the "Liquids SPattering" presets included with the program); vortex brushes, which pull the paint toward the center of the cursor; displacement brushes; and a variety of other brushes that displace, splatter and modify the paint color.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Here's a sampling of three of the brushes in this collection. Your results will depend heavily on the canvas image you're modifying, as well as the paint color you're working with.
