4. Once you do this, you'll see some other options appear. Choose "Local Position" from the menu directly beneath the Source menu, and make sure that "Soft Growth" is not checked. [an error occurred while processing this directive]5. Now, this enables a feature that as far as I can see is unique to Studio Artist. It allows you to set your mask interactively based on local color values and expand the mask simply by dragging your cursor on the screen. Hold down the Shift key as you draw to add to your selection. Hold down Shift-Option to subtract. Here's the start of the process in action. (Click the Play button to watch.)So what you see happening is Studio Artist interactively creating your mask in the most difficult areas--the edges--with very little bleed into the background. After a few more swipes with the interactive region selection, hopefully you'll wind up with a mask that looks something like this. ![]() 6. So now the difficult part is done--the edges--and you can go in and do some cleanup work. Switch your Source to "Circle Paint," and adjust the size of the brush. Hold down the Shift key to add to your selection as you paint and the Shift-Option keys to subtract from the selection. You can also toggle your source image onto the canvas to make sure you're getting all of the details. While you're drawing your mask, the masked portion of your image will be inverted.
