As you might imagine from a package called "Mystical Lighting," there are also several lighting effects. On the utilitarian side, LightCaster creates the effect of streaks of light, with controls for fade, spread, softness, inner glow, color, apply mode and smoothness. It also includes smoke effects and the ability to cast textures. [an error occurred while processing this directive]SurfaceLight is a filter that allows you to project light shapes onto objects, such as the light case through windows or doorframes. You can create multiple surface lights and adjust their rotation, perspective, smoothness, color, softness and base shape. Mystical Lighting includes nine categories of preset shapes to use as surface lights and also allows you to import your own.![]() EdgeHighlight allows you to take a selected area of your canvas (or a layer with transparency) and apply directional lighting to it. Highlights are applied to the edges of your object, defined by the object's transparency or a selection. And you can use it to apply highlights, shadows and other sorts of directional lighting effects. The image below (which started out with no directional lighting) shows the highlight and shading capabilities. Flare allows you to produce everything from spoked bursts of light to spiraling vortices. This is one of those effects that includes so many different parameters that it's difficult to visualize everything this filter can do. For example, aside from basic style and shape options, each individual aspect of the flare can be adjusted, including the flare, streaks, rays, glow and ring.
