Download and installation
This week's collection is compressed using Stuffit from Aladdin Systems. The Stuffit Expander is a free utility for Macintosh, Linux, Windows and Solaris that can be downloaded here. Chances are you already have it on your system. If not, download and install it. You can also configure your browser to decompress files of the ".sit" type automatically using Expander.

Download: Nagel Series 1 Freehand Brushes (752 KB)[an error occurred while processing this directive]Once you download the brush file (NagelSeries1FreehandBrushes.sit), double-click the file to decompress it, or drag it over the Stuffit Expander application icon.

After the file is decompressed (NagelSeries1FreehandBrushes), move it into the following directory: Macintosh HD/Users/[Your Name]/Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Freehand MX/11/English/Settings/Brushes. (You can actually place these anywhere you wish, but, when you go to import your brushes, Freehand's navigation defaults to this location.)

The next time you create a new Freehand document and switch your stroke style to "Brush," you can import this set (or individual items in the set).

To use the brushes, simply select one of the drawing tools. In the Object palette, select the Stroke attribute (or add one), and change the style to "Brush." If you wish to edit the dynamics of the brush, choose "Edit" from the Options pull-down menu in the palette. (You will also note that the individual elements of the brushes become available to you in the Library palette, so you can use them and design your own brushes with them.)

And that's all there is to it. If you have any questions, drop me a line or visit me in one of the forums listed below.
