Adding your new buttons to iDVD
You're all set on the preparation front now. So at this point, within your iDVD package, in the same Resources directory as your button images, locate the file called "iDVD.plist." Open this up in the Property List Editor application discussed earlier. (Double-clicking it should automatically open it in that application.) It should look like this when you open it.[an error occurred while processing this directive]

Now follow these steps.

1. Expand the item called "Root" by clicking on the little triangle to the left, and locate the parameter near the bottom of the list called "numberOfButtons." To the right of this item is a number, set at 13 by default. Double-click the number itself to highlight it, and then change it to 14.

Get this? You just added a new button slot to your iDVD 3 button menu. Hopefully, from this, you can figure out how to add yet more buttons, when the time comes....

2. Expand the item labeled "buttons." Click on the last item (the number "12"), and then click the "New Sibling" button up at the top of the window. This will create a new number "13" in the list. In the blank field to the right of the number "13," type in the base name for your button. (For example, mine will be called "Dave1.")

3. Now open up the item called "buttonSizes." Again, click on the last item in the list, and then click the "New Sibling" button at the top of the interface. This should add a new item 13 to the list. Enter in the width and height values you would like to see for this button. (Copy the values from item "11," if you based your new button on the old "Formal" button.)
