MARCH 07, 2003 Weekly Download: Studio Artist Paint Patches, Series 3 As you've probably been able to tell, I've been obsessing a bit of late on paint effects that involve multiple brushes. Regardless of the program, multiple brush strokes add depth and texture to any art project, particularly when combined with an input device like a tablet that allows you to control the flow of the multiple strokes interactively. They can be used as backgrounds, as standalone objects within a composition or even as special effects, such as some of the presets included in this, our twentieth straight weekly download. Along with my recent obsession for multiple strokes, I also have an ongoing obsession with a program called Studio Artist from Synthetik Software. And so I've combined the two this week in a collection of Paint Patches, with variations on multi-brush and particle effects. This third collection of presets includes 30 Paint Patches, ranging from textures and oddball paint strokes to more practical effects for creating explosions, heat trails and other natural (or unnatural) phenomena.[an error occurred while processing this directive]Before we get to the actual download, here's a peak at some of the offerings in this package.
