JANUARY 09, 2003 Jumbo Jillions Part 1
Launch After Effects and import the gradient wipe you just created. When it asks you which layer to import, you can select merged layers. Import the lottery ticket file (can be downloaded at the end of this exercise). From the Import File window, select the Luckychance.psd file and import it as a Composition instead of Footage. By importing the Photoshop file as a composition, After Effects takes each of the layers from the Photoshop file and creates a composition with each layer element occupying its own After Effects composition layer. In this instance, the lottery ticket has only two layers- the scratch area and the card.[an error occurred while processing this directive] ![]() Open the Lucky Chance composition by double clicking it in the Project Window. ![]() If you toggle off the visibility for the Scratch Area, you will notice that there is only a blank white area underneath. By having a blank area, you can insert your own message in this area. Create a New Solid by pressing Command+Y on the Mac or Control+Y on the PC. Name the solid Answer. Set the size to 425 pixels wide by 220 pixels high. Press OK. Position the Answer layer so it covers the white answer area of the lottery ticket. ![]() Apply the Basic Text (Effect>Basic>Text) effect to the Answer layer. Create a message that will be revealed. ![]() In the Timeline, click and drag the Answer layer below the Scratch Area. Turn on visibility for the Scratch Area and the answer should be hidden completely. From the Project Window, drag the scratch gradient image to the bottom of the Timeline stack. It is much larger than the composition, but that will be addressed (and fixed) momentarily. ![]() Related sites: Animation Artist Animation Supplement AV Video Broadcast Newsroom Content Mastering Corporate Media News Creative Mac Design Supplement Digital Animators Digital Media Designer Digital Post Production Digital Producer Digital Video Editing DV Format Hollywood Industry Mac Supplement Production Supplement Siggraph News The WWUG Related forums: [an error occurred while processing this directive]
