JANUARY 03, 2003 Weekly Download: Textures, Series 1 For our first weekly download of the new year--that being 2003, for those of you living in the distant future--we have a collection of 30 texture files for use in a variety of applications. They all fall roughly into the category of rock or stone surfaces, though I defy you to put a name to any one of them in particular. At any rate, they're pretty (for the most part) and should come in handy for surfacing, backgrounds or bump or displacement maps. The individual files come in two sizes. Twenty-five of them are 512 x 512 pixels, and I've included five of my favorites at 1,024 x 1,024. Some will tile seamlessly, though hopefully the relatively large sizes of these textures will preclude this need. Here's a sampling of what you get.
