Inside the Studio Artist Paint Synthesizer
Part 1: An introduction to Time Particles
by David Nagel

Your Boundary setting determines what happens to the particles when they reach the edge of the image. Rebirth is the default, which causes the strokes to regenerate at a default location after they reach the edge of the image. Here are some quick examples of each available setting.

[an error occurred while processing this directive]Terminate allows strokes to disappear off the canvas. (Click the play button to watch.)

Tiling creates an Asteroids-like effect, where the strokes continue through to the other side of the canvas. (Click the play button to watch.)

Elastic allows the paths to bounce off the edges of the canvas. (Click the play button to watch.)

Rebirth causes strokes to regenerate at a given point, although with some presets, as in the example above, the resulting rebirth can be explosive and chaotic. (Click the play button to watch.)

The last setting, Ignore, is used in conjunction with one of the Path Diverge settings, which we'll get to below.
