Weekly Download: Title Safety Generators for Photoshop 7
Actions for generating NTSC title and action safety markers at any aspect ratio or resolution
by David Nagel

This week I take a slightly different turn in my ongoing quest to provide you with free downloads. Instead of new brushes or shapes for Photoshop, I've created actions that will automatically generate title and action safety markers within Adobe Photoshop 7. The bonus? They're resolution-independent!

The actions
Yes, after hours of painstaking trial and error, I came up with a way to generate resolution-independent title and action safeties for Photoshop. This means that you can work on your graphics at any resolution (and any aspect ratio) and still be assured of proper placement of your graphics for broadcast. (For some bizarre reason, though, there is a minimum file dimension of 452 x 340. Anything smaller than that won't work; But, then again, if you're creating graphics for broadcast, you probably shouldn't be working at low resolutions.) Of course, you could do this all yourself, but why waste the time when I've done it for you in one complete package of Photoshop actions? Heck, I even went to the trouble of creating text labels for the guides! Now just try automating that by yourself!
