NOVEMBER 08, 2002 Weekly Download: Custom Shapes for Photoshop 7
Installing and using the shapes To install the shapes, download and unstuff the file at the end of this article. Place the unstuffed "NagelSeries2Shapes.csh" file into your Custom Shapes folder (/Adobe Photoshop/Presets/Custom Shapes). Launch Photoshop, and then select the Custom Shape tool from your Tool palette. Chick the Shape pull-down menu in the top tool bar, and then select the flyaway menu on the right. There you will see in the list of available Custom Shape archives the set you've just installed. Select it, and the shapes will be automatically appended to the shapes you already have installed. Alternately, if you don't see the shape file in the menu, just choose "Load Shapes" from the menu and find the file on your hard drive. To use the shapes, select the Custom Shape tool from the Tool palette, and then choose the shape you want from the pull-down list in the top Tool Options bar. Also choose the method for drawing the shape in the top tool bar. Methods include Shape Layers, Fill Pixels and Paths. There are other options in the top Tool Options bar, such as "Draw from Center," which will help when using these shapes. You may now download the shapes. If you do not already have Aladdin's Stuffit Expander, you can download it free (Macintosh and Windows) from http://www.aladdinsys.com/downloads/index.html.
