Feature enhancements
In addition to integration, Director MX also gains a number of enhancements to previous features. The most obvious among these is Director's new MX interface. I place this in the category of enhancements not just because the interface is new, but because the MX interface for Director actually makes the program a bit smoother in terms of workflow. I'm not a big fan of interface redesigns just for the sake of creating a new look, but, with Director, it's actually an improvement, particularly in the area of reducing clutter. In terms of more functional new features, Director MX adds an Object Inspector (replacing the Watcher), which can be used to monitor the values of sub-properties of an object, including Lingo objects, cast members, sprite references and Flash references. With Flash sprites, this includes the ability to show all variables at the root level of the Flash movie, which can also be expanded to show sub-properties when a variable refers to an object.

It also includes a new, unified script and debugger window. The debugger is context-sensitive, so that it's only available when in debugging mode. The debugger is also where you'll find the Watcher pane, as well as the Call Stack and Variable panes.

For workflow, the Script window gains some enhancements, including buttons for line numbering, auto coloring, formatting, various Lingo configurations (alphabetical, categorical, etc.) and scripting Xtras.
