Lynda.com Launches After Effects 5 Training CD
Company also schedules hands-on training course

Lynda.com has released a new eight-hour training CD for Adobe After Effects. The CD, Learning After Effects 5, is designed for beginners are focuses on the fundamental and intermediate features of After Effects 5 (standard edition). The company is also launching a week-long class for beginners learning After Effects 5.

The CD-ROM features Bruce Heavin and Calvin Wood. It includes eight hours of instructional movies, plus all the exercise files for students to work at their own pace. Concepts covered include simple transformations using Keyframes, Effects, Masks, Track Mattes, Photoshop and Illustrator integration, 3D Layers, Lights, Multiple Cameras, Expressions, Parenting and Compositing. The CD-ROM goes for $250.

The company has also scheduled a week-long course for beginners that starts Nov. 30. It covers several of the same topics as the CD-ROM, but it will be presented in the form of exercises and projects. Lynda.com cofounders Lynda Weinman and Bruce Heavin will lead the class. It will be held in Ojai, Calif., about 70 miles outside Los Angeles.
