Panasonic Debuts AG-EZ50U Mini-DV Camcorder
AG-EZ50U weighs 1.48 pounds
Panasonic Broadcast & Television Systems Company has introduced the AG-EZ50U, which the company claims is the world’s smallest 3-CCD Mini-DV camcorder. It weighs 1.48 pounds.
The palm-size AG-EZ50U features three CCDs and is equipped with a LEICA DICORMAR lens.
Features include:
an image-processing circuit that captures 1,680,000 pixels high-resolution still images (1488 x 1128 resolution).
Built-in SD Memory Card slot
IEEE 1394 port that allows efficient uploading of digital data to PCs for lossless nonlinear editing and for dubbing to other DV based recorders.
PCM digital audio at 48-kHZ/16-bit 2-channel or 32kHz/12-bit 4-channels.
10X optical/25X digital/100X super-digital zoom. Its large-diameter focus ring, 3.5” LCD Monitor and color viewfinder Optical Image Stabilization provides for clear, jitter-free hand held shooting.
The AG-EZ50U is also equipped with an array of digital special effects including multi-picture, picture-in-picture, wipe, mix, strobe, gain-up, trail, mosaic, mirror, negative, sepia, black-and-white, and solarization. It offers a host of image-enhancing functions including five programmed Auto Exposure modes; manual controls for focus, shutter speed adjustment, iris (up to +18dB gain-up) and an ND filter; five Auto White Balance modes (auto, manual, preset fluorescent, indoor, outdoor) and a one-touch Backlight Compensation function.
The unit’s playback search functions include blank search, photo index search, and scene search index. Its wireless remote controls all major functions including zooming in and out. The camcorder includes a Mic input, audio-video input/output, and S-video input/output. The dimensions of the
AG-EZ50U are 3-5/8” (W) x 2-7/8” (H) x 7-5/8” (D).
The AG-EZ50U is priced at $2,295.
