McQ Releases Cutter 2.0 Software Edit Controller for Mac
New version does interformat 24p/30i
McQ Software Systems today released a 2.0 upgrade to its Cutter edit controller
software for the Macintosh. Cutter runs on any 68040 or higher Mac with
RS-422 serial ports. It turns the Mac into a cuts-only videotape edit
controller. The new version adds support for edit control during conversion
of 24 FPS progressive HDTV material to 30 FPS interlaced NTSC video, or
30i to 24p for audio layback.
In addition to the new interformat capability, Cutter 2.0 also adds support
for add-in PCI RS-422 serial port boards, making it possible to run Cutter
on G3 and G4 Macintoshes not equipped with modem and printer ports.
features include a 5,000 edit memory, auto assembly, list management,
text notes, tape logging, split A/V edits, support for four audio channels
and edit list import and export in CMX, Grass Valley and Sony formats,
among others. Cutter supports both NTSC and PAL formats in addition to
the new support for 24p machines.
Cutter 2.0 is available now for $795. For more information, visit http://www.McQPro.com/html/Cutter.html.
