3M today announced a new model in its lineup of portable digital projectors. The seven-pound MP8747 offers 1,400 ANSI lumens and a resolution of 1,024 x 768 at 24 bits. It also offers digital keystone correction, which, according to 3M, keeps the projected image square automatically.

The MP8747 features an active-matrix LCD and "intelligent image scaling" that optimizes image quality for SXGA, SVGA and VGA resolution and video, as well as digital magnification up to 4x.

Other features include:

  • USB connection for mouse emulation, along with compatibility with Mac and Windows.
  • Four input channels that provide simultaneous connection to two computers and two video signals.
  • Virtual mouse remote control with presentation tools laser pointer, timer, magnification, mouse emulation and blank.

The MP8747 is currently available for $7,995. 3M also has a less expensive model, the MP8646, which has all the features of the MP8747 but only 1,000 ANSI lumens. It sells for $6,995. For more information, visit http://www.3m.com/meetings.
